Mission of the Marine Corps League

The mission of the Marine Corps League is to promote the interest and to preserve traditions of the United States Marine Corps; strengthen the fraternity of Marines and their families; serve Marines, FMF Corpsmen, and FMF Chaplains who wear or have worn the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor; and foster the ideals of Americanism and patriotic volunteerism.

Who We Are

Lance Corporal Squire "Skip" Wells Marine Corps League Detachment 647 of Marietta, Georgia, is an organization of United States Marines and Navy FMF Corpsmen who enjoy the camaraderie of Marines and work together for the greater good.

Originally established as the Greater Atlanta Detachment on July 2, 1990, the detachment was renamed in honor of LCpl Squire "Skip" Wells on November 17, 2015. A native of Cobb County, Georgia, Wells was on of five servicemembers killed in the Chattanooga, TN terrorist attack on July 16, 2025.
